Treasurer’s Newsletter

September, 2003

On the money front, things are looking pretty good. Early this year we formed a bylaw committee and made a few changes. One of the changes was to help out our Welfare fund that was badly needed.  Over a period of time our monies will increase so we will be able to handle our expenses that need to come from this fund.  For example, our annual picnic, flowers or fruit baskets for illnesses or deaths. We also have a small amount in this fund for hardship cases.  We also have been able to send our officers to required meetings delegated by the International.   Hopefully we will be able to keep going in the right direction the rest of the year.

September 23rd at the next union meeting we will be having a guest speaker, Rick Tonkinson, a financial advisor from the New England Securities. Rick will discuss our 401k plans, retirement and also answer questions. We are going to put a link on our web site so you can contact him at any time. He has been a guest at many of our service centers and at our System Council meetings.

Hope to see you at our next meeting. Have a safe year one day at a time.
