Treasurer’s Newsletter
February 2005
As we all juggle our time between work responsibilities and home, we all are working toward the same goal, to have a happy home life and be financially secure. This year our union is still negotiating with FPL about our contract. As one of your System Council Delegates, I can tell you our Negotiating Committee is trying to work out some issues that the System Council had a problem with. Try to attend one of our monthly meetings for more details on the 4th Tuesday of every month at 7:30 pm.
This June we will be having our local election of all officers, System Council Delegates and the Executive Board. I am currently the Treasurer and also a System Council Delegate. I would appreciate your support and your vote in the upcoming election.
Our annual picnic is coming up in the next few months. The date of the picnic has not been set at this time. The picnic will be held at the same place as last year in Okeeheelee Park.
A good friend of mine and I'm sure a friend to many of you passed away February 15th. Brother Bob Colburn known to many of you as "Boney", served our local as President and also was on the System Council and the Negotiating Committee. He will surely be missed by all of us.
Hope to see you at our next meeting. Have a safe year, one day at a time.
